Photogenic dog

I can't help but notice Benton just keeps getting cuter and cuter.

He's got that model look down.

Even his candids are cute as can be! I know, everyone thinks their own dog is the cutest. But you have to admit, Benton is pretty stinking adorable.

Barton-Lamb Wedding

This past weekend, we had a wonderful time traveling to Kansas City for Eric and Ashley's wedding! Kevin was a groomsman, and it was great to see him in a tuxedo again.
The elegant ceremony at Colonial Presbyterian in KC, MO.

The reception at Loose Mansion. They had several flavors of cupcakes, and they cut into their large cupcake on top.

After a year of telling Eric not to be messy with the cake, Ashley decided to get some cake on Eric.

A very sweet first dance as husband and wife.
Enjoying the dance floor.

Stealing a picture with the groomsman.

Congratulations Ashley and Eric!

Summer

It's been hot lately, but Benton and I do our best to keep cool on our morning walks. We leave for our walk as soon as Kevin leaves for work (7:30am usually), which helps us not walk during the worst heat of the day (and also makes Benton mellow for most of the rest of the day, too). Benton's favorite way to stay cool?

He loves drinking water from our hose, but he also enjoys running through sprinklers. Yep, that's right, timed sprinklers that go off usually right as we are walking by on the sidewalk. I don't necessarily enjoy that, but I let Benton get closer to the source. Lately, though, the light mist I get does feel pretty good.

Mr. & Mrs. Salgado

Emily and Jose got married on Saturday! I was the matron of honor, and the wedding was beautiful. The ceremony was at Council Grove United Methodist Church, where Emily and I attended growing up, and the reception was at the CG Country Club.

The happy couple leaving for their reception.

Waiting outside after the ceremony with my hubby and Emily's maid of honor, Jessica.

The reception

I gave a toast remembering how I first met Jose and knew Emily was smitten, and also about how I think they are so great together. I wish Em and Jose many years of wonderful times and memories!

Sweet Surprise

This past weekend, I was matron of honor at my friend Emily's wedding (a post on that is coming soon). I left on Friday morning to help out, and Kevin came in time for the wedding on Saturday. He brought with him a surprise!
In the past, I've brought concealed cupcakes to receptions (with the bride's permission, of course) that I buy from Olivia's Oven (a gluten-free bakery) in KC. I wasn't going to be going by KC for this trip, though, so I was planning on just not worrying about the cake part of the reception. Kevin had planned making cupcakes all along, and he spent a good portion of Saturday morning baking them! He's the best!
