After the Circus...

Life on Hollywood Court has slowly been returning to normal.  It's been just over a week, and we finally have all the tents down and big vehicles gone.  The security has been gone since last weekend, so the next stage has been the parade of cars that come to see the new house.  That has even started trailing off now.  Yesterday, for the first time, I noticed our neighborhood was finally feeling settled down again.

Kevin and I plan to introduce ourselves soon to the new neighbors, although we want to make sure they have plenty of time to settle first.  They have had lots of visitors (Carl is one of 12 children), so I'm sure they will appreciate a little time.  I'm excited to have them as our neighbors!

Here is a photo of the completed home that I took this morning from our deck.

EMHE Big Reveal

There wasn't much that changed on the outside on Tuesday and Wednesday, so my next photos are of the big reveal on Thursday.  I took the day off to spend some time with my parents and to see the big event!  It was SO cold and rainy (which means muddy in our field), so after we realized there was not a publicized set start time for the family to return, we decided to wait in the house and watch.  With so many people, we probably had a similar view anyway.

My mom and I freezing and smiling!

Lots of visitors!
It was finally time to "move that bus!"

EMHE Day 5

After work on Monday, our friend Britt Bradley and her father Dean Bradley, an architect, stopped by to have dinner and see the house.  We had a lot of fun seeing the progress together.  We saw Louise Hall, the mother of Carl, who is also my parents' lake neighbor.  It was neat to talk to her about the experience and hear the inside scoop.  There are voice-activated doors and the master bath has both handicap-accessible and traditional fixtures.  Britt is a professional photographer and a media specialist for the UMC Kansas West Conference, and I so appreciated her taking pictures for us that evening!

A hot dog set out for Ty.  I'm not sure he got it, though.
Right after work, we made it to the "circus"!

LOTS of media

It's coming together!

Thanks, Britt!

EMHE Day 4

Kyle, Kevin's brother, visited the job site with us on Sunday afternoon.  Although he was disappointed he didn't get to see Ty, I think he had a good time!

Speaking of seeing celebrities, Kevin and I saw Paul earlier that day.
